I know this will come as a silly question, but from someone that is learning the very basics about cars its the type of questions you get lol. Anyway ive heard alot about bad wheel bearings,in fact mine might be going bad soon.I know the repair is repacking the bearings.Ok heres my question,is the wheel bearing part of the axle or is it part of the actual wheel that you put the tire on?(when your done laughing and pick yourself off the floor please explain this too me,thanks)

you dont replace the wheel bearings on a w-body. you replace the whole wheel hub, where the bearings are.

You don't repack these bearings. You buy a whole new assembly.

The axle/ CV joint slides into the wheel hub assembly.

The best way to learn is to take things apart at a junkyard. That way when you break it, it doesn't matter.

ok thanks.is that an actual GP one? the plug on the side is that for the ABS? So rather than pack bearings i should just replace the whole wheel assembly?

Yes, that's from a GP and the plug is for ABS.

You CAN NOT repack these bearings, so you will have to buy a wheel hub assembly. They aren't very expensive, and remember to replace them in pairs.
