    i have a 98 gt n/a, its been sitting since the summer at my grandmother house in another state, the battery went dead and she has not started it since i left it. she going to have a battery put in, is there any type of start up procedure i need to tell her about? like a fuel or oil additive ? any input would help thanks

    Not really, I mean if it won't start, try pushing the pedal a couple times, but if you flood the engine with gas, let it sit for a bit and try again. Just make sure it warms up a bit before driving it, so the oil and lubricate all the parts again.

    Gas only lasts about 3 months before it starts to break down. There's nothing you can do about that at this point, it's going to run like crap until it's all out.

    The oil should be alright, but I would get it changed asap.

    Why the new battery instead of a jumpstart?

    if she can check the oil, do that, and just let it idle, don't gas it for a while, idle it for 5 to 10 minutes so the oil gets pumped back through the engine. you should be ok.

    have her at least start it up once a week, if it can be driven, do have her ride it to the store once in a while, keeps the brakes from rusting to hell. add stable to the gas tank too, if it fires up on the old gas.

    Stabil, but the fuel is already broken down, so it will do no good. You should have put it in before you left the car sitting.

    man i dont know, im in Texas they are in Louisiana, I know that battery is old, she said she tried to charge it and that my grandfather tried to jump it, so idk it needs a new battery any way

    i didnt plan on it jus sitting this long, she waited a good while before she tried to start it. i cant get to it till january so ima send the money for the battery and relay this info to her or grandfather
