Quick question, I just had my 2006 GP tuned up emissions checked all sensors cleaned replaced the whole 9 yards. A couple days later I gassed up, check engine light came on a few days later, I looked up the problem in the manual, the gas cap was listed, went out to the car, found the gas cap was loose, tightened it up. This was 5 days ago, the has remained on and I have refuled during that time. I am wondering how long it will take for the light to reset or is this something I will need to bring in to have done professionally?

Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

it usually takes a little while
if its buggin you take it to autozone they should be able to scan the code then clear it for you for free

Thanks, good to know. There's no autozone where I live so I'll see if I can wait it out.

The EVAP - SMALL LEAK code P0442 from the gas cap takes I *think* 3 consecutive COLD starts and PCM pressure checks to be cleared without a scanner.

If the CEL isn't going off after a week, you probably still have a leak. Get a new gas cap anyway.
