when i bought my gtp the previous owner removed the u bend and resonator. i now have corsa muffler on it but i hate the raspy noise because of the missing resonator. the guy at the muffler shop say's putting a cherry bomb in place of a resonator will make it sound better and not hurt performance, is this true? what do you guys recommend?

    Pretty much.

No resonator on a 3800 sounds awful.

I am getting ready to replace my resognator and mufflers. The shop said they are taking that off and just running a pipe from cat back to muffler. 40 series flow master. Would this sound ok? I don't want to shell out all this money and the end result sound like garbage.

flowmasters are a no no on 3800's, it'll sound like garbage and drone like a mofo.
