    Is there a certain octane to use for certain mods? Like today i put 5 gallons 93 in to see how my car would run. I have a 3.4, 1.9, 104s, ls1 maf, DP, High Flow cat, No res, gaterback belt, and Cold air. Also for now no egr. Just wondering. I know that the Higher octane helps knock but can it hurt my car with my mods? Thanks!

    Lol I really hope you haven't been running 87 this whole time. I'll run out of gas and call AAA before I'm forced to run 87.
    No More GTP for me.

    If you're not knocking on 91, theres no point.

    If you are, then theres some benefit there.

    So you are asking if "excess" octane could hurt your situation? I say no.

    absolutely 100% the more octane the better, on any setup, any motor, ever.

    Like Matt said, if you have no issues w/ knock on 91 octane, it is pointless to spend more on 93. Unless 93 is the same price as 91 in KC.

    if you are not knocking on 91 running 93 will not help you unless you have a way to adjust the timing.

    well im in St. Joseph and they have 92 and 93. 91 at a few places. But if 91 is only like 4 cents cheaper the 93, Why not run 93? If it isnt hurting anything. Ya dig?

    thats just dodge being dodge in there eyes there motors run good with "regular fuel" and they dont want ppl messing with it by running different gas then what they "tuned" they truck to run

    LOL....I tell him that everyday. He's a Ford guy, but his FX4 was given 30 days to live by his mechanic...and the dealership offered him $10k for a dying truck. So he picked up the 07' Hemi with 35k miles for $6.5k

    Before this thread becomes 20+ pages let me just put it this way. An average person usually drinks water. Let's call that water 91 octane. Life is good. Now that person drinks gatorade, life is a bit clearer, but still good. The gatorade is 93 octane. Now that person drinks alcohol, let that be the 87 octane. He's still a functioning drunk, but he can't climb 20 steps without taking a breath.

    Now let's say that the average person was just upgraded to a bodybuilder like Zoomer. He drinks water, it works well for daily gulps, but he needs something extra. Grabs the gatorade and it helps him a little more, almost at his peak. Then he shoots up some steroids (110/E85) and is the ****ing man. But what happens if he drinks some alcohol(87)? He gets drunk off his ass after 2 drinks and can't make it up a flight of stairs without falling back on his ass twice.

    Average person = average car
    Zoomer = modded car

    There is a difference between forced induction vs. naturally aspirated octane requirements.
