I know i said i wasnt going to add performance mods to my car but....i need(want) more pick up. Im trying to get a cold air intake for Christmas, and new DP for u bend delete. but i know CAI doesnt add much power and u bend delete is really for sound and better flow. I was looking on 3800 performance.com and i saw a PCM gt v1.0 , and it said you need a CAI, and cat back exhaust system. so would i have to buy a whole new exhaust set up like a corsa one (just an example). Also what are some cheap symble performance mods that add power ? i see on everyones mod list 180 t-stat wich im confused on what it is/does, and i see everyone has new plugs which idk what they really do. Im currently looking for a SC engine too but dont know how soon i will find that. i have a 03 GT: LE

Dude save your money and just get a cone filter and slap on on the end of your Throttle body. Mucho more money for other crap

stock catback is fine, the only thing you need to get rid of is the ubend. but if you pay for a DP, you might as well just get headers

    sigh

make your own intake for less than 30 bucks man. search "simple intake pictures"

You dont need a catback exhaust system they are a complete waste of money.

A DP will add more flow and a few hp because you free up the exhaust a little bit, but headers or a PLOG are what you really want.

Beat ya on the first one lol. And I have a 3" DP and a PLOG. Noticed the biggest difference with the DP, the PLOG will just be a big help when I get my tune didnt notice much when I put the PLOG on.

yes the pcm would work, it always will, but it'll run pig rich with no real other mods and you will be slower.

the pcm can just sit there its shock proof and weather proof.

read the safely modding your car thread in the general tech section.

it'll give you links to the headers and plog and other mods.

ok. well what does the 180 t stat do ? and should i change spark plugs ? i heard that getting new ones makes up for lost power on the old plugs

I dont want to be a hard ass here, but your not listening, you gotta read man, we told you were to read and learn to answer your questions.

A 180 thermostat just makes the car run cooler and that is it. But with how are cars like to run and how warm they get anyway with heatsoak and what not, the stock thermostat works just fine.

When you mod the stock spark plugs are not what you want to be running. You want to run a smidge cooler plug like autolites.

606 = Stock ( what you should run)
605 = A little cooler ( you could run these if you want)
104 = 2 steps cooler (3.2-3.4 pulley setup with supporting mods)
103 = 3 steps cooler ( lots and lots of mods, cam, IC turbo etc etc)

its all starting to come together now. i think im going to go with a PLOG, get a new DP, ad the open cone on the throttle body, change the plugs and maybe get the v.10 pcm

but what plugs should i use on my N/A car ? im looking at the 605 autlites but it says for SC cars

i know u said i could run these if i want but is there any other , or should i stick to these
