I've got Flowmaster super 44's on my GP GTP and it sounds pretty sweet and the drone you kinda forget about

The 40 series are a chambered muffler and sound like junk on these cars. Leave those to the V8's.

I'd go with a Magnaflow or something not chambered. There are tons of threads on this subject here and will give you a good idea of what sounds good and what doesn't. Some people also remove the resonator and stick a glasspack in place and leave the stock muffs on.

I'd go with magnaflows. I had the clambered xl turbos from magnaflow on my gtp and I went through three sets in a year. I put on magnaflows straight throughs and they are a little bit quieter, have less than half the drone and will not go bad. they sound super smooth and don't shake the car when you're hungover
98 GTP: 3.25 Pulley w/ supporting mods, Magnaflow CatBack W/ High Flow Cat, HAI, TR55IX, forged p/r, springs, valves, SD Headers, ZZP PCM, new trans, poly mounts, 180 stat, Tune
DD 98 GTP: High flow cat, Magnaflow catback, HAI, 180 t stat, poly upper mounts, new trans, pretty lights (5k headlights 6k fogs)

Lol... been there on that. I had my resonator cut too.... after a few months I was like FFFFF THIS!! And then put a 24" glasspack on. I'm gonna redo my exhaust some day. Maybe when I do my top swap.

    And smile it's Blacktooth Grin!

I have flowmasters 44 on my 98 gtp with the 3inch downpipe and the cat and it sounds good with some drone but with some trunk sound dampining it should be ok.

The drone really isnt that bad with 44s and no sound dampining. I have my 1month year old boy in the back and he falls right asleep with no problem.haha
