okay, so lately i've been hearing this weird noise coming from my dash...

It sounds almost like a creaking sound, like if someone rocking in a rocking chair, no joke. lol I have a video of it on my phone and can hear it clear as day on my phone, but for some reason when i put it on my computer or upload it on youtube you can't hear it really at all...even with volume cranked

It starts doing it when i turn the key into the acc on position...i don't even need to start the car before it starts doing it, although it does continue to do it when the car is running. i can tell the noise is coming from the interior side of the firewall and can hear it very well on the top of the dash near the vents there, or from the glove box. I'm gonna try to get a better video here today and ill post it up if i can.....my description is kind of vague without the video, just don't know how to accurately describe the sound. Any ideas? any input is appreciated

I had/might have a similar problem on my car too. On my car, it sounds like someone is pulling velcro apart slowly and it happens whenever it feels like it. No so much lately but weird!

hows are your vents? mid, floor, defrost? does the heat and a/c work?

kinda sounds like a blend door actuator is having a fit by moving the door open and closed.

i've noticed a slight amount of warm air coming from the vents no matter when i'm driving, but heat works just fine when i turn it on.

A/C still works pretty well, but when it's on, there's kind of a clipping noise that almost sounds like a fan just hitting something as it spins.

Other than that i have no problems with heat or A/C but i'm kind of suspecting it is something of that sort. I wanted to try to get a better sounding video, but it didn't make the sound either time i got in my car today. Weird

you might have paper or something sucked into the blower fan, i think some once here had envelopes fall out the back of the glove box and got into the fan.

pop the glove box and check behind it, and if you remove the cowl under the windshield wipers on the pass side you can see right into the squirrel cage. same instructions as if to fix the water on pass side floor when it rains. if you want to see what it in tails, just search.
