Well I got back from ZZP last weekend. Went there to get springs, chain, oil pan gasket, motor mount, trans mount, tune and dyno done.
I first want to thank Chris (ChrisSKillaZ) for coming along on the trip. Had a good time plus it made it so much easier driving when you can switch after a 3-4 hrs of driving.
Also want to thank the MI GP guys who took the time to hang out with us. Jordan, Andrew, Scott, Mike, Alex, Shawn, Terrell, Josh and Jeremy. Has an awesome time. tons of laughs. It was also nice meeting Josh V. at ZZP on Saturday.
Want to thank Matt for a great job he did tuning and dynoing my GP. Especially for all the help and info when I asked for it. Tim and Steve for all the help and Brandon for working on my GP.
Here are my mods first.
Stattama Intake
LS1 TB
Stattama/ZZP T67 Turbo
ZZP Stage 2 heads (now) with 103 springs
Stattama Stage 2 Turbo cam
Autolite irdium XP plugs
65 lbs injectors
Front Plog
Real PEM
3" exhaust
ZZZ/Dynotech trans
As we were driving I was trying to figure out when should I fill the tank up last so I can get to ZZP with very little gas left. This way can tune on pump first, then add the race 100 octane. We got to ZZP with 1/4 tank left. I got 24 mpg. Was happy and surprised with the MPG but pissed that so much gas was left. The worst part was we got gas from a gas station called Pilot. There were no major brand named stations at that stop. It turned out to be sh*tty gas.
First good pull just on the Pilot 93 oct, I was getting a little KR which we ALL were surprised. Well if it's crappy gas, that will do it. So I had no choice but to add the 100 oct in to compensate.
This was also on a Mustang Dyno.
Best pulls of the day were.
503.4 HP / 619.4 T with cutout on DP open @ 20 PSI (small touch of KR - damn sh*tty gas)
474.9 HP / 580.5 T with cutout closed @ 19 PSI
I think these are pretty good numbers for a stage 2 setup.
Hopefully next month I can run 10's now that I have no more valve float.
Car was a beast after the tune. Just tapping on the gas, the car wants to take off.
From 4800-6k the car literally makes peak HP, it's nuts. The linear power band is just a straight line across on the dyno sheets. Seems like when it's at full boost it makes peak HP, and it doesn't even care what RPM it's at. Definitely alot of fun and it just keeps pulling no matter the RPM.
It's true what Matt said back in 2008 when I first went to have a tune and dyno. He said once I upgrade my springs and change over to an a2a IC from a w2a IC, I'll gain 100whp.
Here are some pics.
