Tried to remove my exhaust tips so I can clean them up a little bit. I tried uncrewing the bolts to the ring that holds it tight. But I was twisting the bolt instead and broke both of them :O. What are they called so I can go maybe buy some new ones without looking like an idiot.

yep just cut them rings off and go buy some clamps from your local auto parts store. I did the same thing.

UPDATE: Bought a metal grinding disc, cut the welded bracket, cut the ring twice opposite of each other and the ring came off easily. Exhaust tip was a little harder to take off, just opened up the flaps and pulled side to side for a few minutes and popped off, you may fly back a few inches I did >.>

LOL, I actually flew back a foot or two but that made me laugh.

So I cleaned them up with a copper wire brush atachment for a drill, cleaned it up almost the best I could.

I dont really like the way they look lol. Too shiny/bright. Doesnt look good on an all black car.

Anyone paint there exhaust tips black? I think I am going too!

The inside of your tips will be black from carbon within a week. Just leave it. I'd put a layer of clear paint on the lip, though, after a good polish.
