I have a 97GTP with a new water pump and new radiator hoses top & bottom. both hoses are collapsed after the car cools down from driving. the themostat and fans seems to be working properly. the low coolant light stays on some times. what could be the problem?

Did you try replacing the radiator cap?

yea radiator cap. not letting coolant back into the system. when it cools down it pulls coolant back into the system from the surge tank. get a new cap.

Not uncommon to get a bad NEW rad cap. Motorad's are generally pretty bad for that. May also still have an air lock somewhere...try jacking the front of the car up to make 100% sure the rad cap is the highest point of the cooling system to coax all the air out. Remove the rad cap and let the car run above idle for a good 8 to 10 minutes, long enough for the engine to get hot enough and the thermostat to open. Another trick is to drill an 1/8th inch hole in the flat part of the thermostat to aid in bleeding the air from the system.
