All the vehicles I have driven up until now have all been rear wheel drive. (Camaro, dodge durango, Licoln town car).

Now my 01 is front wheel. Im not too crazy about it, although there is not much I can do about it.

What are some pros/cons with rear wheel and front wheel drive?

I think front wheel drives are more stable, they handle better in slick driving conditions. I think as long as there is front and rear wheel drive vehicles there will always be the debate as to which is better. Ive driven rear wheel drive vehicles as well and there is something to be said about a rear wheel drive vehicle with enough power to lift the front end off the ground but I also find good things in front wheel drives as well.

    Think again.
    Easier to push then pull.

RWD is for fun factor, and if you lose the rear end a lot easier to gain control of the car again.

FWD is honestly a better setup for daily driving and especially in adverse weather conditions. RWD is better for drag racing due to the simple physics of the weight transferring to rear wheels during a hard launch. RWD is also more fun because you can kick the back end around with ease.

But, in practicality, FWD makes the better choice for most passenger cars.

For a human being, sure. But that's because of your body's design. In physics, a force is a force. It really doesn't matter to the car in terms of efficiency if the front wheels are exerting the force or the rear wheels.

What does matter in efficiency is mass of the drive train, with RWD's usually have more mass in that area which answers why they are slightly less efficient.

IMO its not smart to power yourself with the wheels you steer with. under hard driveing you can get yourself in some trouble like that.

For humans, it's actually easier to pull than push, try it sometime.

on the streets, yea AWD while take off faster but i have seen many RWD at the track take off faster. plus AWD lose power threw the trannys and all so in the long run its gonna hurt you more.

Like you said, under hard driving it can be trouble. But how many people are auto-crossing their FWD cars?? As I mentioned, FWD is great for daily drivers.
