I have 2007 GP, my shift indicator light is out. whats the easiest way to change it? Do I have to tear out the whole center console? I sure hope not! Thanks!

This seems to be a common problem, my light has been out for a month or so, and I have seen this same post before.

There is one fuse for the shifter light that is on the passenger side of the dash. It also lights up the climate control box.
If your climate control box is not lighting up, you need this fuse.

I have not found a fuse just for the shifter light.

If you do take everything apart, get some pictures, do a writeup.
    It would be appreciated.

This link is for a shift boot install, but it shows you how to get the center console up and get the shifter out. Once you get the trim piece up, remove the cover with the "PRND321" (plastic clip on either side of the shifter) and you'll see the bulb. You'll need a 194 bulb.

I know this is an old post but that is an older Grand Prix that what we got. Ours does not have the cup holders that open like that.

just undo the four bolts (2 on each side) then lift up with the car in 3rd gear.
