    does anyone know how to change the lighter and spare power so that it does not timeout ten minutes after i shut the car off.
    the manual says go to the dealer.

    Are you trying to disable it or what? If you want to disable it pull the rap fuse.

    you get one of them fuse adders and install it in the fuse box, to a constant power fuse, ( $3 test light helps find it fast) run wire to power port, this way you have a built in fuse for what ever you are powering.

    you will need to cut at least the hot wire off your power ports stock wire harness and cut and solider the new leads in, and use shrink tubing, it will last longer in the long run, better than the old cut splice and tape. you tube has some great vids to learn how to solider, its easy.

    hmmm.
    thought there would be an easier solution.
    I also have a 01 oldsmobile aurora and all i had to the do was move the fuses to a different location...one slot over.
    maybe i'll check with the dealer...there has to be something preconfigured.
