Both jobs were pretty easy. I was surprised how BAD the transmission fluid was. No chunks, but lots of gray fluid came out of the filter. Below is an approximation of what the new color was vs. what was in there that I removed. It was almost 100% gray with just a touch of pink. 73,000 miles on a 2000 GTP. First tranny fluid change so I wanted to do the filter too. Never did a pan drop, filter change before. It wasn't too bad at all. Hardest part was getting that stupid o-ring out where the filter went in.
Then I changed out the fuel filter. Been meaning to do that forever too. Another super easy job. Glad it is done.
Now this weekend I get (yeah) to change out my driver side rear wheel bearing. :-( I've replaced the front passenger already (failed in 8 weeks - Thanks ZZP so I guess I've actually done it twice), the passenger rear failed this past spring and I was in a bind and had to pay $350 to get it fixed. This time I am getting a Timken from RockAuto for about $90 shipped to my door. :-)
Fun fun... I would have rather used the money I spent to do my last wish list items (plugs, pulley, PCM, belts), but that's OK. At least I saved several hundred over having to pay someone else to do all of this work.
It is because of THIS site that I have been able to do so much with my 2000 GTP. Thanks for everyone that posts here or helps to keep this site up and running.
