installed meth injection two months ago and been using washer fluid..kit is great and love the results till today when i removed my intercooler...come to find that all the coating is gone from the sc rotors..i got the shiniest rotors ever and not happy...anyone else ever have this problem and is there a way to stop it minus injecting below the sc as i can install new rotors but dont feel like just making another clean set..this aint no rotor washing factory

Wondering this as well since I'm thinking really hard about doing meth.
Edit. Not litereally doing meth but running meth injection.

no, methanol is not corrosive. the rotor coating will only come off on its own because the proper prep work was not done from the factory. given that the rotors were recoated with the proper process then they would never flake off unless you tried to destroy them.

This topic is so old and lame...jesus there is tons of info on it on here. It is proven it will NOT eat the coating...and like Nick said...its a GenIII factory coating flaw. The GenV's don't flake for nothing.

Take the skirts off and spray it post blower like its supposed to be done

well i went from perfect teflon to PERFECTLY shiney without even a trace of teflon anywhere in under two months and come to find out that the meth kit manufacturer has recieved multiple complaints about this but still tell their customers that in no way can meth injection (or windshield wiper fluid) hurt any part of the motor. i have a spare supercharger with 100000 miles on it that ill be installing tomorrow with the meth kit and will disassemble in one month. if it comes off my father in law (a lawyer) says that and their admittance to previous complains is enouph to have a local magistrate find in my favor for negligence as NO warning was giving about any potention damage post purchase. im looking for others who have had this happen.

It is possible that whatever washer fluid you are using is causing the problem. Does it have any detergents in it?

Blue didn't you have trouble with your SC rotors a short time back? Yours is Gen III, right?. I have a 2000 GTP. That means I am Gen III also, right?

yes you are the same year as i am and im a gen 3...and this isnt just a pealing off of some parts of the rotors..this is 100% gone and looks like someone took a buffer to them after removal...ill post a pic and u tell me if this is normal wearOriginally Posted by rmcardle3

Spray some water on paint that is not chipping, then paint the is chipping guess which one comes off faster.

my rotors looked perfect after i sprayed 100% meth on them for 6 months.

I vote corrosive washer fluid. If you used meth I bet it would be fine

Have you added seafoam through the Air Induction first?

It appears that you had more than just methanol/water moving through your system. Since it was washer fluid, it's possible there was a fair amount of ammonia in there, too.

possible who knows what they add to wiper fluid..problem is i was very clear when asking devils own injection if wiper fluid had any negative effect and their response was absolutly no damage can result except for a blueish colored motor....why they thought they could speak for all washer fluid types is beyond me but they did. now i have junk rotors and god knows what kinda sc bearing damage. oh and the fluid was -20 degree fluid from autozone
