not sure what an "abs ring" is, but the snap ring stays inside of the transmission..... there is not supposed to be one on the shaft

These cv shafts do not have abs rings on them. It is all in the wheel hub.

    are you guys telling him?

The part of the axle that goes into the trans aka diff housing should have a compression ring on it that does keep the axle in the diff. It's not quite a snap ring, but it does compress etc, you should see the groove and it should have come on the axle.

As for the ABS ring, the ABS sensors on our cars are build into the wheel bearing. Therefore there is nothing on the axle.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

well whatever kind of ring it is, it stays in the transmission when the shaft is pulled out. when i pulled my shaft out there was no ring on it, and no ring on the new shaft.
