Change your plan just a bit and you will be all good
get headers (speedaddys) PCM(3800performance,intense,Reptile)
make your own open cone theres a couple write ups
do a 180 tstat,colder plugs, and a 3.4 pulley drop
and you will be in 13sec teritory
I had a hot air intake and a better tune than the factory and I ran 14.5 @ 94.. Then headers and a 3.4 and was runnin 13.9s@ 98.
A properly done pulley drop wont make your car fail just keep it maintained and dont beat on it and it will last
lol watch out for your tranny though that's gonna be your weakest link once you get a good tuned 3.4 setup.. I had it dyno tuned @ 237 whp and 267 ft tq with just the 3.4 setup b4 the SSIC and went through 3 tranny rebuilds. Currently on my 4th rebuild but I went to the track every weekend .. Bout 350 passes down the track since 08.. Turns out it was my valvebody all jacked up with sticky valves..
as i said your fine if you dont beat the piss out of it

This... you need this now.
You will only nuke tranny's if you beat on a poorly built one.
Also I was looking at the 3800 performence pcm and was wondering if i need a pulley to use it?
I just finished my 3.4" set up and it's a completely different car. The gain in power and change in feel is night and day. I know everyone says look up the properly modding your 3800 car forum but it's a good idea. It's pretty much listed in order what you should do. I did my CAI --> Headers --> PCM --> Plugs&Stat --> 3.4" MPS. The big gains come late when you install the PCM and pulley.

FWIW I ran a 14.3 with a 4.0 pulley and a plog,downpipe and WAI
Also another reason I dont really want headers is i have no clue how to install them and I heard that to get it done at a shop it will run around 500 bucks
Headers is a 3 hur job very straight forward pull dog bones pull front mani pull xover
unbolt down pipe remove rear mani
pull rear valve cover
instal rear bolt up very loss
bolt up xover bolt in front get it all ined up and bolt in tight tighten clams hook up new dp section and dog bones and vroom vroom
I paid 250 for the installation of my headers, they welded in a new flex pipe and included a cat converter. It took a few hours.
I did mine for free with a few swear words and some good old fashioned physical pursuasion
