how do you KNOW its the power steering pump? have you taken a mechnics stethoscope to it?
Better yet, have you replaced everything at once?
If you dont then the crap in there can nuke the new pumps and new racks.
I've had more than one noise issue with aftermarket pumps in several vehicles. Try a different re-manufacturer or go with an OEM pump? I just put a cheap junkyard pump out of an '04 Impala in my '97 and all is quiet.
Same here, went through 3 different remaned ones before i just got a used one out of an 07 and no more noise!!
Yes, we used a mechnics stethoscope and it whines when you turn the wheels, also the whine is different with each pump. The last service included the rack, pump, cooler, filter and flush all at the same time. It is getting an OEM pump tomorrow. I will post the results.
