Didn't really know where to post this, but what would be the best things to remove from my car to make it lighter? And I'm moreso talking about things I don't use often, like my rear seats (I'd like to get rid of them and do something more productive with the space). I also prefer to keep the comfort things like AC and stereo system lol.

theres a few engine lift brakets that can come out
i think you can use a diff bracklet for the coilds and yank the heavy cast bracket out not sure though you can pull the seats if you really dont need them spare tire jack and all that useles junk

you can get a smaller battery but if you have a large stereo that is not going to work very well

I guess I wouldn't consider the spare tire and jack useless junk. You may only use it once, but it is important. Nothing like being stuck on the side of the road without a spare tire and jack.Originally Posted by TorqueAutoMotiv

if you really want her on a diet gut it door panles carpet headliner... i did this on my old talon and thought it would be cool but i hated it just so ya know..

Yeah I plan on keeping my interior as well as my emergency things. And I'd like to shed a bunch of weight for the same reason as I'd like to buy a turbo - to go faster lol. Weight reduction is a cheaper way to improve performance. What good is a whole bunch of power if you're lugging around a ton of dead weight?

removing the rear seats doesnt shed much weight at all, I've had mine in/out quite a bit, and if you have a louder exhaust, be prepared to deal with more noise...
To lose a lot of weight, you'd have to do a lot....There's nothing really heavy that can just come out minus the tire/jack and stereo equipment.

Could pull all the seats, trunk mats, replace suspension parts with chromoly stuff, carbon fiber body parts... all-in-all, better off with a faster car than one that's a few pounds lighter. Believe it's 1/10th of a second faster for every 100 pounds shed? So, after taking out the seats, you'll be hard pressed to shed more than a couple more pounds.

Yeah, weight loss is a good thing if you're trying to squeak out another 1/10th, or save some gas, but you gotta go extreme to lose enough weight to make a noticeable difference.

You can always take out the transmission and motor out of the car, those are pretty heavy.

you can run a race battery with an aftermarket stereo/subs, just get a high output amp, and do the Big 3 and you'll be set. Just dont run the radio with the engine off.

that and loose some weight. install a lightweight racing seat, pull the carpets and sound proofing. Switch to the aluminum subframe. Get rid of your EVAP, A/C, P/S, make sure its a coupe, make sure it doesnt have a sunroof.

There are 10-14 pounds difference depending on the site your looking at...and the sedan weights more everytime.
