Well what I thought was going to take 20 minutes to change, took 2 hours and a lot of cutting with a torche! Had to replace the CV axel too, since the heat boiled out the grease and the sledge destroyed the end of it. I have done a multitude of these and this one has been the worst!

Omg…It looks like you had to call in Mr. T on that one. “I pity the wheel bearing that messes with me!”

Ten years of continuous driving excitement and counting!

Was the torch the first thing you tried? Or did you try a puller first?

And hope you used anti-seize on the new one.

Yes on both, the pressure got so great it started eating into the cv axel!

But yes, dobbed it all over!

Like I said in my old post (Ill be up at school for 4 more weeks), got 9 days left, not moving the car until the trip home then right to work on replacing it. I hope I wont have to resort to this?

Can you think of anything that you did during this install that would have caused you to have to resort to cutting?, or did this just simply happen itself?

When I do install my new HUB, how do these torque numbers look??, I used them for my first replacement, and got them from off of the thread
http://www.grandprixforums.net/f73/h...ubs-10985.html (How to replace front hubs)

    -Hub bolts: 96 foot lbs
-Brake Calliper bolts: 133 foot lbs
-36 mm axel bolt: 159 foot lbs
    -tire bolts: 100 foot lbs

Im just wondering if the hub itself was bad in the first place, or that I over/under torqued something.

They look right. I have never had an axle seize that bad. Normally the BFH or an air hammer will loosen it right up.
