Has anyone upgraded to HID by using a convesion kit? I'm tired of my very weak headlights!! I can't see anything at night, my eyes get so tired while driving at night. Sometimes when cars pass me I can tell the big difference, looks like ANY car have better brighter lights than my pontiac grand prix!! It sucks! My brother bought projector headlights for his mustang but I don't see a big difference, lights still not bright enough so I've been told that HID conversion kits is the solution to my problem. has anyone done it yet? how hard is it? does it work?

This is what I'm talking about: Xenon HID 9007 8000K Conversion Kit Neon 95 96-98 99 : eBay Motors (item 170465270831 end time Apr-03-10 12:10:20 PDT)

and they won't fit properly, none of them do.

If you're happy with the light output you get when you first put 'em in don't worry about it, but theres more to be had if you check the distance from the back plate to the centre of the filament.

I've been doing some research and I found out that, HID are not street legal unless you are using a projector...... what do you think?

    Wrong.

HID's are illegal unless installed in the factory.

    Yup.

If anyone but the factory where the car was built installs HID's they're illegal.

Now if you have 4300K or something that's close to the colour of all the other factory HID's on the road, cops won't bug you unless your headlights produce excessive glare.

I have standard, you can get slim if you want really thin ballasts. Or 55v if you want them brighter.

So standard is the "lowest".... still give you more light than stock headlights right? how long have you had them? have you had any problems with the cops? or drivers flashing their lights because your lights bother them?

HIDs are brighter than stock halogen, yes. It depends on what color temp you get. 4300-5k will give you best output. I havent had any issues with my 6000k, and have not been pulled over for them.

I have the 4300k's from VVME.com and have only been flashed 2 times since i installed them 3 weeks ago. I do have issues with both lights no turning on at the same time. I ordered a relay but i can't figure out how to make it work. If anyone has a writeup on how to install the relays pm it to me.
