i have a 2002 gtp no mods I am new to the web site an have found a ton of great info but now i am in a bind. I recently have changed my intake gaskets because of a light leak. Two week later my car is idling rough so i changed plugs wire and coils didn't change a thing so i took carb cleaner to check for vac leaks and nothing. I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas?

Get it scanned and check Long Term Fuel Scans... try to find a local GTP member and ask them nicely to scan your car.

Also, any Service Engine Codes? If so, list them..

Odds are you have a vacuum leak.

EGR maybe. It should be shut at idle, it could have failed open on you. I’m with Goose 100%, you need it scanned. Because it could be several items, especially since you didn’t give a whole lot of information. Anyway, checking out and cleaning the EGR is easy and free.

no, you more than likely have a vacuum leak. Look harder.

It certainly could be your cat. If your car has over about 120k, that would be in my top 5 list.

To check it, drive around tonight get the engine heated up. Get on it a little, and then pull over in a dark area. Leave the car running, pop the hood and look at your exhaust piping before the cat (and the cat itself). If it is glowing, the cat is your problem.

Well, if it was my car I’d call up a local shop and have them weld in a universal cat. It is your cheapest option when replacing the cat.

I just thought of another cheap easy one, replace your PCV valve. It is a way out there chance like 1:1000, but its two bucks

Although I’m pretty sure your cat is the issue. I have seen dozens of people that refuse to believe that cats and O2 sensors don’t last forever.

PS deleteing it will give you a perma CEL

Honestly, I’m not sure they work for 04+.
The only method I do know works is the PCM code delete.
    I’d give it a 50/50 chance

I’m glad you found it , just as we suggested in the very beginning you needed to do a scan. I’ll never understand why people are so reluctant to use such a good diagnostic tool.
