Would a speed sensor (I'm assuming that's the sensor on the pass side of the tranny right before the axle) cause hard shifting.. My speedo quit working and my car started shifting very hard up and down.

in the tune, shifting goes off mph mainly. having a broke speedo sensor could cause some problems i would assume. but im not really sure.

That's what I didn't know is if it went by speed or RPM. My TAC is working, speedo is not.

What had happened was when I installed my other motor I was a little hard on the powersteering pump and I messed up a line because on my test drive I blew a hose squirting fluid all on the back of the motor.. I tried cleaning it but on another test drive it cought fire on the back side of the motor.. Didn't burn long but it was enough to damage that chunk of harness (knock, oil pressure, rear 02, and that sensor) It also melted the top of that sensor. I have not driven the car enough yet to know if I might not of hooked something up right because it did not do it before the swap but is now.. Knowing if this sensor causes problems would put my mind at ease!!!

I have the new chunk of harness and I bought a new sensor since the top was damaged. I will fix it all this weekend since my steering issue is fixed so I'll find out, just trying to get a heads up on a what if..

dont know if you can read that, but its throttle positon and mph. so at a certin mph it will shift with a certin throttle position.

i think the broke speedo could be causeing your problems. but im not 100% sure on this, but if i had to guess, that would be it.

    That is awesome!!!! Thank you!!

How do you like your Tuner software? I am thinking about getting it after I rebuild the motor that messed up. (I hydro locked it so since I have a spare I'm going to go through it and build what I want as I go..) From what I have read it's awesome but this the first actual "screen shot" I've seen!! I was thinking of HP Tuner but you are using something different.. I really don't get the credit stuff on HP Tuner but I might be reading to much into it..

    Thanks again!!! I appreciate it!!

i have the DHP Powrtuner. i would deff go HPtuners. there is alot more support for them. the Powrtuner is not even sold anymore and the only support is the forum and its not much support.

for someone getting into it, hptuners all the way. dont get me wrong powrtuner can do all the same stuff, its just not as near user friendly.

once you unlock your car with hptuners, its unlocked for life with that cable, if you use another cable, you will need more credits. it comes with 8 credits, i think it takes 2 to unlock your car.

hptuners can also tune alot larger range of vehicles than dhp also.

LOL for real!!!! Freaked me out.. I know you don't put water on grease fire but that was all I had, glad it worked for the hydrolic fluid!! LOL It's just unbelieveable how the powersteering fluid lines are routed under and behind there... Luckily I had that parts car to cut that part of the harness off to use but I can't do it again!! I'm just really anxious to get to building the original motor to how I want it!!
