Where would I install the sending unit for an aftermarket gauge?. I searched and found people putting it in the factory sending unit location but they don't comment on if that triggers anything in the ECM. As my 2004 NA GP does not have an oil gauge I assume the sending unit they are talking about is for the ECM to know the pressure only? I can't stand not having the normal 4 aux gauges.

What you could do if you want to keep the dummy light in the dash, is get a brass tee with 1/4 ends and hook your gauge into one and you sender into the other.

Just take the factory one out. It will not do anything.

OK, thanks for both suggestions. I will figure out which one I will do when I dig in there.

The idiot light comes on at like 2psi by then your ****ed anyways. It is a normally open circuit so taking it out would be the same as having it in with oil pressure.

I agree with 01gtp on this one. By the time the dummy light comes on the engine is toast anyways. Ditch the factory sending unit and put the aftermarket in it's place. Make sure you use some teflon tape on all the fittings and after you install let the engine idle and make sure you have no leaks at the sender.

    Good luck!

Great replies guys, thanks. I am going to do the gauge only and ditch the light. Just have to figure out what Autometer setup I want.
