Thread: Silverstar ultra high beam issues

I just installed some silverstar ultras on my 2002 grand prix and the low beams seem to work fine, but it is very hard to see the high beams. I still have to clean my headlight lenses, but am wondering if anyone has anything they can suggest to help. I got them recently enough that I can still return them if necessary and put new bulbs in or put my old bulbs back in as I was just upgrading them. My old bulbs are GE.

Anyone?? The way the car is now I can't use my high beams. Going to replace one of my fog lights soon (drivers). Any tips/suggestions for either high beams or installing the fogs? I have been told it may be a wiring problem for the fog (loose possibly), but I have a new bulb for it anyways.

Ok. Yeah they don't really show up at all. The low beams on my old ge lights are better than the highs on my silverstars. I still have the receipt for them and can return them and get some nighthawks if need be. I'm thinking of upgrading the fogs sometime as well.

I would like to get hid's, but can't afford them right now. Any suggestions for bulbs?

Ok. Will have a look. Will return the silverstars if i find some hid bulbs. Do you know how bright of a bulb you can put in the stock housing without worrying about melting the lens or anything?

Ok. Thanks for your input. I think I will return the silverstars and get a 35w 10,000k kit. Found one on vvme for about $100 canadian with shipping.

The lenses have some water and clouding in them, but don't seem to be too bad. I'm thinking of cleaning them when I go to replace my fog light bulb. I haven't gotten the lights adjusted. I know my high beams were aimed too high with the ge halogen bulbs. It just seemed odd that the stock low and high beams were both better than the silverstar highs, but the low beams were a fair bit better than the ge.

Comes in everything from 4300k-15000k. Did some more reading and 4300 does sound like a better choice because the 6k like you said has a lower light output, but is a whiter light. I think bi-xenon will be a good choice so the high beams work properly and are both an hid bulb because the high/low hid (type 2) uses a halogen bulb for the high beam and hid for low.
