Does anyone have any tips or a write up on removing the rack and pinion system on my 97 GP?

drop the k frame about 6 or 8 inches and you should be able to get at it no problem

Drop the entire K frame? Is there an easier way? I will be doing this in the garage on my back of course!

yeah im pretty sure it has to be dropped a bit to get access to the rack. its really not as bad as it sounds. just jack the car up as high as you can and keep the jackstands as high as you can. There should be plenty of room.

Do I need to support the engine from up top or will it stay in place with the jack under the k frame? Thanks for the replies guys this helps me alot.
