What the title says. Are they really stainless? Their site says mild steel in the description but they look stainless to me.

They're stainless, this has been show/proven many times before (someone in their marketing dept. was lazy, and copied the PaceSetter description for the SSAC site... I've tried emailing them to correct this, but got no reply).
For an example, I own the oldest set from 4yrs ago, and have put almost 50k on them since my Dec '05 install.
Here's a pic showing my crossover last week, while replacing my tranny internal harness (bent pins):
Another pic from last fall, on the ground when I swapped to a ZZP interlock flex, after 3yrs of all weather use in NY/MI/MN:

Yeah, I've seen some people slap MIG on stainless, but it's not optimal.
Here's how my uncle TIG's every flex/cat install for SSAC's that get installed by me:
(doing my dirty old set... looks alot nicer with the new ones)
I may work with someone on the next install to re-arrange the flex/bend in a simple fashion (1-2 more locals are always itching to buy SSAC's after seeing all their other 3800 friends enjoying them around here).

I just got some SSACs would you recommend swaping the flex out to begin with?
Yes, some people with quieter exhausts will have complaints, since they can hear a ticking that the regular flex pipes make in the 2,500-3,000 rpm range under light acceleration load.
With the v-band version of the SSAC's/XSPower's that has been out for the past couple years (see pic below), it's fairly straight forward to cut & weld in the right spot at a shop. The rotation doesn't matter, since it's not interfering with bends, like my older set that's identical to SLP's 1-piece header/downpipe.
(before ZZP flex swap onto a new set of SSAC's)
(a used set of SSAC parts, cut with high-speed 4.5" cut-off disc)
