The PF52 is the longer filter. PF47 is the shorter 'stock' filter.
5W30 is thinner than 10W30, but Only at temperatures of 40*F and less.
At operating temperatures 5W30 and 10W30 are the same

i wouldnt run the longer filter, it sits too close the the lower control arm, a big enough bump and im sure it will cause damage. i run royal purple, i bought the 5 gallon jug from jegs for $125, cheaper than 50$ for 5 quarts from pep boys

My oil filter hangs over the subframe. The control arm can't touch it. Been using the longer filter for over 5 years without a problem.

if your oil filter is over your control arm you got waaaaaay bigger problems than whatever a longer filter brings.

I will say when the crappy AZ motor mounts collapse it can make an oil change a chore.

to repeat --- if the control arm hit the oil filter there are far larger problems with the car than the longer oil filter.

I have been running the M201 for over five years with no problem whatsoever. Bobistheoilguy.com is a great site for oil information. I have to agree with the synthetic and dyno oil being completely compatible. Go to that site and do some reading if you have questions on any kind of fluid except bodily......
