Thread: 04-08 airbag systems

Hi all, Just registered.

I just rebuilt a totaled 02 SE for my GF and she loves it. So I got an 04 figureing to fix & resell but it ended up being a parts car. Now I got an 07 figureing on useing parts from the 04 to fix it. The 07 bags are both blown. Everthing in the 04 is intact and I'm useing some of the sheetmetal too. So far I have figured out the 2 air bags and dash are the same. After that it gets cloudy. Anyone familiar with the interchangeability? Also is there a way to tell if the sensors on the rad supt and seat belt pretensioners are still good? Visually doesn't look to be anything wrong with them. I'm sure GM would say replace every single component. I'm not holding anyone liable for info just hoping someone has more experiance with these systems.

Also got the dash pad & bags out of the 04 and was going to remove the rest of the dash supt ect. Got to the brake booster & I'm stalled. How the heck does it come out?

I've bought a '07 GP and the bags went off. I was wondering if you could tell me the steps in which the dash air bag/dash pad is removed for replacement?
