Have a 2004 Grand Prix GT with the "check gas cap" and "change oil soon" lights on. How do you go about clearing these. I have tried a new gas cap but it still stays on.

My dad's newer grand prix had this problem too. The "Change Oil Soon" light you have to change yourself in the menu of the car. You can reset it.

But for the Gas Cap, I think it has something to do with the sensor on the actual gas cap being loose for these model cars. My dad's car and my cousins car had the same problem. So it's something to do with the sensor where the gas cap is located.

Ok, narrows it down a little bit more. There are waaay too many sensors on these things. Probably just to make everyone take them in to the stealership every time they appear.

get used to it, as technology is sometimes a pain in the ass. I can only imagine how many sensors these things will have in twenty years..LOL

check the rubber seal on the gas cap; if it's cracked replace it. That's what it was for my daughters car.
