How can you tell if your car has the HUD windshield? Before i bought my car the windshield was replaced, but im guessing that it wasn't replaced with the correct one...as the dealer ordered it.

Yeah there is a special windshield. It's designed so the HUD appears clearly, particularly under brighter circumstances. I suppose the best way to tell is to drive it in direct sunlight and see how well you can see it.
I know my windshield was replaced and the new one was NOT a HUD windshield. I can't see it if the sun is shining too brightly, even if it's not blinding me.

Actually the brightness is usually a problem from the HUD itself, not the windshield. The image wouldn't be 100% clear on a non-hud window, but that really hasn't hindered the 5 Regals (no hud window available) that I've tossed them into.

To tell look at the marking in the corner of the glass. It'll say something about the hud and it would have been an extra $100 or so cost wise from a regular window.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Yeah, in normal lighting I can still see mine well enough, I don't plan on replacing my windshield unless it breaks.

While driving down the road, look toward the berm of the road and you'll see a "wave" where it appears the road has a constant hump in it in the lower portion of your windshield. (That is if all the rest of the tips above don't work out)

I didn't replace my windshield just because of the HUD, and I can see it just fine, nice and sharp too.

I'm thinking of getting a new one just because mine is pitted so bad, that I can't see if the glare hits it just right. Safelite only wants $30 more for HUD windshield, so if I got a new one, I'd get the HUD since it's such a small difference.
