it is a diesel, it should go that long without major repairs. And as a superduty it should be beefed up. I am glad you have not had any major issues with it. I would expect the same from any manufacturer. I am just not a ford fan. I am sure I am not the only one on here. In my opinion, the powerstrokes suck when compared to the Cummins or the Duramax.

Nope, you're not the only one. I'll admit, I'm a true GM fan.

Now, we should get back on topic.

Navistar used to make the diesels for Ford. Now Ford is going to try to make their own in diesels in Mexico. Good luck with that.

if pulling the fuse doesnt work like it didnt for me then go to radioshack and a pack of resistors for $1.they are 470-ohm, 1/4 watt 5%tolerance.

you'll need one of the resistors. where the red security light is on the dashboard the other hole has the photosensor for the autolights. carefully pop the cover off of them and take the sensor out. now take a resistor and bend the wire part and put one end into each part of the socket to make the connection. the resistor will take the place of the sensor and tell it that its light out all the time. put everything back in and your all set.

you can also make your own on/off switch with instructions here:

swiggles, not only did you post on this thread to answer what i was looking for, you posted on another thread to get me here, and i'm pretty sure you answered the same question. you're awesome dude. and those headlights are sexy. and so are the rims. are they 17s or 18s?

powerstroker - 210,000 isn't that much. i had an S-10 with 190,000 and i'm pretty sure it's still going, wherever it is. my buddy had an F-150 that blew a transmission, my mom had an econoline that had the tensioner pulley lock up and snapped the belt, my dad had a 66 Fairlane that caught on fire one night... but i'll let that one go because that had some kinda built up motor in it, he hasn't talked about it in awhile. i did just buy my mom a thunderbird recently, it was ok for like 2 months before it had a miss in the motor. mechanic said it had delco plugs in it though, so that probably had something to do with it lol.

meanwhile, i ramped my grand prix into a cornfield last year, drove it out, and it hasn't been in a shop since with no prolems, knock on wood not to hijack the thread or anything, but juss sayin haha.

Pulling the fuse worked for me on my '99. That was a nice easy remedy to a bad situation (automatic lights are a bad deal in my opinion). I think I'll look into the DRL mod, though, to run through the parking lights.

Yeah plus I am retarded and at night I would just leave my headlight switch off (because they were on anyways) little did I know all the lights are on with the exception of the license plate lights, and thats a really fast way to get pulled over in my city.
There is no replacement for displacement........unless you have a supercharger or turbo

2000 Bright Red GTP Coupe GXP axle back, GMPP sway bar, NGK TR6, 180 stat. (Uninstalled Aeroforce Interceptor, DHP PCM, FWI, Gen V on the way) and still no pulley in sight.

the amount of problems that i would expect a 210k vehicle to have had depends on the make. its a ford, so.... im sorry.
