The other day I noticed my AC wasn't very cold. I put in 1 small can of 134 refrigerant. Now the recirculation, Max Ac cycles from Max to Reg AC back and forth. Is it possible that I have overcharged my system with only 1 can of 134?
Will it stop taking refrigerant through the suction side when full or will it keep taking till overfull?

You can overfill it easy. How did you know it was low to begin with? Im not sure what you mean by cycling from max to reg a/c? Also, what year is your car?

He probably means he was turning the ac knob from normal ac position to max ac position and so forth.
You should have bought one that has a pressure gauge at least on it. I know my hvac buddy when he does cars, he vacs the whole system out then adds the right amount via weight. My 97gtp still has ice cold ac and has never been charged once, but my friends 07 civic si a/c system was toast because he had a hole in his condenser.

Anyways, yes the only way you will know how much refrigerant you have in there is to count it as its going in. You should use the factory amount as a baseline and go from there, either adding or subtracting till you get the best results.
