They are the same except for the 1" nut on the K&N. I like the option of the nut just in case i over tighten the filter and can not get it off.
fram, cheap. what does it matter? if you change it every 3k like you should filter size being a tad smaller doesnt really matter, never had a problem with them clogging, and honestly, if you have that many contaminates in your oil there is a problem anyways.
I run stock sized PF 47 on my GPs, no 52s... Oddly enough, my TBSS takes a PF48...
I generally run a Wix/Napa Gold filter, great filters for the money. I've been using Mobil1 lately because of oil change deals at Autozone.
i have been running K&N, but im going to be going back to ac/delco. alot cheaper & from what i hear from my instructor's stock oil filters are the best.
Wix. (Same as a napa)
Some of you must not have seen the inside of some of these filters that your using. The only one I can speak for is the WIX and the FRAM. I will never put a fram on any of my cars. Ever. Because I have seen the inside of one and know how poorly designed they are.
K&N seems to be a good filter. But I perfer WIX.
BTW the I have also done a little research on the wal-mart brand (Tech something?) and it seems to be leaps and bounds better than the FRAM and is a little cheaper (For all of those using the FRAM filters)
im currently using an ac delco, but i just bought 10 wix filters, so ill be using those for a while
TDC, you can see for yourself how the supertech compares to the fram here:

Ran Acdelco since on all my gm's
Few years ago a guy named Bobistheoilguy.com did a big research and test out the flow rate and build quality. Acdelco was at the top. In the end even K&N was just below the delco filter.
Delco PF47 for ever LOL - And they are cheap
I might switch to ac delco. We carry them at work so I might be able to get them cheep.
An AC/Delco is a very good quailty filter, i've cut one up before. I may cut another one up this weekend since the black car is due for an oil change.....
I use the delco filter or the K&n.
K&N
Amsoil/K&N/ACDelco depending on the situation and what's readily available.
I will never use Fram after seeing them fail a lot.
fram, never had an issue with it. only issue is the 3 car shops around here only carry the filters for my car in fram sooo not much of a choice, i've tried looking for tech (walmart), ac delco, and k&n, They just dont carrey the model for my GP![]()

Here is TX K&N is cheeper than Mobile1 so I run it. It is funny how all the "studies" don't ever agree. 2 or 3 years ago there was a big study released on effectiveness and flow. Mobile 1 edged out Wix for #1 by a hair. But considering the price difference Wix was the best there was. I'll have to see if I can still find that post somewhere. I guess the one thing that I can say from personal experience is fram filters are almost all the same. Back in the day most of the filters were made in Clearfield, UT. My first job was there and the biggest difference is the cannister size. We only had to different papers and they weren't very different.
yesterday I drove 35 minutes to another advanced auto store and found K&N at $13.50 and then I purchased 5 quarts of royal purple at like $7.50ea. WOW never again lol...i'm bout to go ride the bike so i'll change it later.
