Thread: Water, water, everywhere!

So I've been battling the lovely water in the passenger floorboard problem that a lot of us face with our GP's. So I've basically glued the rubber water deflector back on and completely sealed up the cowl via silicon.

All was fine until today I noticed my passenger floorboard was soaked...AGAIN! I dried everything up and drained all the water our of a large metal cylinder thing up under the passenger side of the dash (I'm guessing thats the blower motor?). A fan is now blowing on the carpet to get it dry overnight.

So my questions are:
What else can I do to prevent this from happening again? I basically GLUED the cowl to the windshield.

Do you think the water in the blower motor was in there from before I sealed everything up?

Also, my vents now "whine" when I have air blowing out of them. Think the water damaged my blower motor?

This is such an annoying problem. I would give anything to have it done away with. Any suggestions?

Well guys I've concluded that it is NOT rainwater, but condensation building up that is causing my wet passenger floorboard.

So its the condensation from the ac. I looked up under the dash and the water is leaking from where the rubbing hose connects to the bottom on the ac unit. I pulled that rubber hose off and its no clogged.

So, how do I get this ac condensation to drain properly? For now I just wont run ac, but its summer of course and I'd like to get this fixed as soon as possible.

i dont think condensation would soak your floor board as bad as your describing the 90* would have had to been plugged just get the permanent fix water deflector from a GM dealer the pt# is 15794785 it will permanently get rid of any cowl issues and for 8 bucks you cant beat it.....give that a try....im willing to bet you just didnt fix it good enough and this will eliminate that possiblity

I wish this was the case. I now know for a fact that its the condensation. After draining the water out of the ac unit and drying the carpet I went for a drive and BAM, my floor was wet again, with the ac unit dripping wet with condensation. Plus, it hasn't rained for two days out here. I'm pretty sure its condensation from the ac unit. I'm gonng do more poking around but if anyone has any insight please let me know.

Does anyone have a picture of this thing/how to get to it? I have the exact same problem with the carpet getting soaked only when the AC is on, so I have figured it is condensation. I can't find any kind of hose, or 90* turn. So I'm dumb and am missing it, or it is way more hidden than I'm thinking.

I just got back from vacation and I can tell u it SUCKS not being able to run your AC. I looked in the engine bay and I couldn't locate the 90* that runs through the firewall. There is a 90* that runs from the bottom of the ac under the dash that runs up to a plastic nozzle, I already checked that rubber hose and it is not clogged. Can you tell me exactly where this drip hose is then?
