Well, I think that I have figured out that my window motor regulator is bad. The dirver's window on my 98 Coupe is slow to go up from the full down position. I took the door apart and the motor is as hot as a firecracker. I did some searches of the forum and determined that the motor regulator is a common problem, so I have decided to replace it. The question that I have is where to buy it. At AutoZone, Advance Auto and a few on-line parts houses the part runs about $150. I found it online at am-autoparts.com for $51.30 plus shipping and at thecarpartwarehouse.com for $62.54 with free shipping. They also appear to have a 3-yr warranty. Do any of you GP experts have experience with either of these or can you suggest another source? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I only want to do this repair one time. It looks like it may be a bear!!

Honestly, I would just contact Ed Morad for a one, the stock ones suck, but the aftermarket ones are even worse. Ed's service can't be beat. Have you tried just greasing yours up, though?

I can't say on the coupe, but on my Regal I can do an entire regulator replacement in ~20 minutes start to finish, it's really pretty straight forward. After you do a few, it's even simpler.

I did try greasing the vertical pieces that the vinyl-looking window support slide on. I also tried to squirt some silicon lube in there. However, I did not take the assembly out of the door for fear that I could not get it back in and keep the window up.
Can you tell me how to get in touch with Ed?

Morad Parts Company - 3800 Motors, Transaxles, & Stock Parts

Ed's been pretty much the "go to" guy for replacement parts for the GP for years, people joke about having him on speed dial (for some, it's not a joke, I'm sure ).

I've personally gotten more than my share of regulators from him, very stand up guy.

I ordered one from Ed. Waiting for arrival. Hoepfully it is not too difficult to install.
