Hey guys, I'm new here. I'm not exactly sure where this should be posted so if it needs to be moved, go for it. Actually I'm trying to be a stand up guy here and fix a friend's car. She has brought it to two different places and basically they have taken her for over a grand and haven't even fixed the car yet. So be easy on me. lol

I'm kinda new to the 3800, but not new to GM, I'm over on the j-body forums on a regular.

    Anyway, on with the BS.

So I guess the other day she started the car, it started for a second or two and died and hasn't started since. No, the security light is not flashing with the key turned on, it comes on like its stupposed to and then shuts off like its stupposed too. I thought it would be passlock as well.

Its got spark, and its got fuel. I was told that fuel pressure was at 35PSI but that's only priming the system, as the car won't start. The fuel pump is new (before this problem, about a month ago), the plugs and wires are new, as is one of the coil packs. The FPR is also seemingly new. The fuel filter is also new.

I took three of the plugs out and cleaned them off, took a torch to them and then placed them back in, the car hiccuped but never started. So now I have all 6 plugs out and waiting. All 6 were wet. I don't know if it would make much of a difference but I decided it would be a good idea to pull them over nite and hope the chambers dry out a bit as well. And so I could do a bit of research as well.

Oh, I don't believe it was bad gas being that the fuel system was just cleaned out by pep boys for $600, ::rolls eyes::

I did search but I didn't find anything that seemed to be anything like the issue at hand.

Any help with this would be great! I feel really bad for her, she is a single mom and this is her only transportation! Hell, I even paid for it to be towed to my house!

nevermind, after running a compression test, fuel pressure test, and PCM diagnostics, the throttle body was full of **** and clogged. Sprayed the hell out of it with carb cleaner, got on the gas and ignition till it started and it gradually got better until it was running right! gonna pull the TB and give it a good goin over. thanks to everyone who looked and said "wtf, I have no idea!" lol

I'm just excited to get this thing out of my garage and get my camaro out of the rain and back into it! lol :-D
