So i had a fight with my gen v s/c snout bolts. I got all of them out besides one that I stripped, so i drilled it out. Ive been looking everywhere for new hex-flanged style bolts to replace them. I know the size im looking for but no one seems to have the bolt with a black tempered style coating like the originals. Anyone know where them? The dealer is out of the question, they only sell the s/c as a whole unit and they have that garbage torque head on them

Might want to look on the web, fastenal should have them along with so many others, if they are black they are the black oxide coated bolts.

I have always found ace hardware has all the bolts I needed. The other big box stores are hit and miss.

ace has lots of metric bolts, try them. If not, look in the phonebook... i found a supplier near me that carries only fasteners, if they dont have it no one does lol.

I tried everywhere guys. I tried Ace weeks ago, they barely have a selection of metric bolts...since then Ive been searching online for these B**** bolts. I went to a machine shop and asked to look through his catalog and I failed. The search continues the bolt size is M8x1.25x45mm partially threaded with a black oxide finish. Why doesn't anyone have these bolts?!?!?!

take a pic of the bolt.. that will help, if someone happens to have some laying around.. Also why do they have to be black?

I think they have to be black oxide for the strength, so you can torque down the bolts to the proper spec.
