I've got a 99 Grand Prix 3800 series II supercharged. Think I might have a bad fuel pump - not so sure. I noticed the problem when I went to start the other night. Turns over, but gets no gas. I noticed I didn't hear the usual hum of the fuel pump kicking in. However, there is no voltage at the pump when ignition is on. The fuel pump fuse is good - tried swapping the two fuel pump relays in the fuse box - thinking one was bad - no dice. Thinking maybe the fuel pump resistor, but there doesn't seem to be any power at the harness to the resistor. I know it wouldn't be hot, but thought you could jump across the two wires to get a result. I would suspect the fuel pump, but since there isn't power to that, I question my original diagnosis. Not sure what to do at this point - any suggestions? I don't want to start buying unnecessary parts and doing unrelated repairs. I considered the MAF or maybe that Fuel Pump resistor, but I've done some reading on the forum and don't have exactly the same symptoms. Any help would be appreciated.

Try bending pin 85 on the relay over. This will bypass the resistor. If it's a bad resistor you will know by doing this.

Oddly enough - the car started this morning - I could hear the fuel pump engage, but this afternoon would not start - same symptoms again. I'll try the resistor solution and let you know what happens..... Thanks!

ok so im having the same problem. but mine was running just fine and now wont. have no fuel. i bent pin #85 over and still nothing. i have a VERY dim light (test light) at the fuel pump (low voltage) im assuming! does this mean the fuel pump itself is bad? i have already replaced both relays! and where is the resistor located?
