I would unplug the MAF sensor and see if it runs any better. If it does, look into getting a new MAF, or a used one from Ed Morad.

If it doesnt run better.. then I have more questions for you.

Does it stall out while driving down the road? or just at idle?

Have you checked your fuel pressure? Fuel pressure regulator?

I would suggest cleaning the MAF and cleaning the Idle Air control unit and makig sure the passage is not clogged up with carbon build up in the throttle body.

last night the car stalled several times. it would start right back up again and sometimes the rpm would fluctuate wildly between 700 to maybe 2000 rpm. after this it went back to idling normally. it does seem to have a very slight miss at idle. ideas? thanks in advance, jim

hello again. it had 2 codes. one was a cylinder 3 misfire which i've fixed. the other was a mass air flow low input, which i assume was set when i unplugged the mass airflow sensor. its still acting up too. thanks again, jim

Do you still have the screen that is suppose to go infront of the MAF? Because without that there it will stall out.

Reset the codes and see if they come back. If the MAF one does you may need a new MAF sensor.

if it was a vacuum leak, wouldnt it act up all the time? this is an intermittent problem. sometimes when the car is accelerating, the car will sputter and wont take any more throttle. sometimes when you are decellerating it stalls. sometimes when its idling in gear the rpm will fluctuate from about 700-1500 rpm, and it doesnt set a code. help please!

Looks like it. Buy it from the cheapest place you can find that has the longest warranty you can find.

On the internet try rockauto.com. I just posted a 5% off cupon in the parts/shops/community hero's section.

sure, but it would be wise to make a new thread for us to read through instead of this one from 2009.
