To make a long story short about the dealership replacing my LIM gaskets, and horrible gas mileage ever since, I will just say that I went out and discovered that one of my vacuum lines was going from the t valve to nowhere. I believe it is the supercharger bypass line? It is the middle one. Not the big one, or the hard one. The vacuum line runs around the back of the motor and next to the battery then it is unhooked from something, but what? I drive a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP.

    Thanks

also, could that have been affecting my mileage and performance or making a coolant smell?

I love my 5.0, but a little civilized muscle is a good thing! Especially when it always runs and doesn't leave you stranded on the highway.....

Your description isn't very helpful. What is the "t valve"?

The valve on top of the supercharger, at least I think Ive heard it called a valve after some searching. The one with the three hoses coming out of it, vacuum lines. The middle one or the hose on the long end of the T (the T is small too) is the skinny flexible one that wraps all the way around the engine bay and is one long piece ending somewhere around the battery area.

That's not a valve, just a vacuum tree. The one in the center runs your HVAC blend doors. Supercharger bypass is the line coming off that closer to the front of the car.

Yep, that's your HVAC line. It provides vacuum so your HVAC doors can move.

Honestly if anyone can just tell me where this particular line plugs in, it would really help. Thank you

I'd love to help but my Impala doesn't have vacuum operated HVAC. It's electronic, so I don't have that line to tell you where it goes. Going to need a GP member to actually go look.

It'll go back through the firewall into the passenger cabin at some point.
