Well, it's quite well known that header coatings tend to dis-color after a certain amount of time.

I need to have my TOG's re-coated and I'm looking for a chrome look.

I know Jet-Hot does them, but how do they hold up for the test of time??? Anyone else have any other type of coating they would suggest???

I'd like to see pictures of people's coated headers / PEM's installed on their cars, and how well the coating has held up over time

    Thanks,

    Jason

Not coated, but I think they'll get the point across in the engine bay.

I haven't installed them yet, but that's coming in the next couple of days....hopefully they'll turn a blue look, and give it that cool muscle car type appearance like the chromies do on the roadsters.

Those really look great, but I'm really concerned about long-term appearance on my headers. This will be the third time they are coated, and to be honest I'm sick and tired of taking them out! LOL!! I want a good coating that will prohibit rust.

Yup, unfortunately new headers are not an option, plus I like my TOG's

Well, the only thing that bothers me is this:

The place I got them coated has a 3 year warranty...so if they do hold their end, I should have this covered. But I want a "chrome" look this time around, and their "chromex" coating is rated to 1300º . Isn't that getting close to what a blown 3.8 puts out??

The Jet-Hot extreme sterling is rated to 1700º

It's also worth noting that the coating on these seems very thin compared to the jet hot coating. wonder if that has anything to do with it?

unless youre getting some stainless headers, your coating will become dull regardless of what you do. therefore your TOGs are going to be no match for any type of use besides putting them up on a wall if you want them to stay shiny.

I'm more concerned with rusting than staying shiny.

then any high temp coating will work. the 2000* ceramic i have on my S&S is still good, but it just isnt shiny anymore after having them on for two years.

Unfortunately that's not the case: I had my headers coated about 2.5 years ago with a high-temp coating from performance.................

That's what they look like today.

The coating that was on my pacesetters also held up good. It just was not shiny anymore. No rust though. I do not belive they should look like that.
