I just bought a 2004 gt, problems or questions for all of you. (1)When started the info center says check gas cap,(GO BUY NEW CAP?) (2) Check engine light is on, is that because of gas cap. (3) Low washer fluid,(filled up still on) Thank you Doug

Did you ever find out what was up with the low washer fluid issue? My 04 keeps coming up with the same error, only its intermittent, like when I am going up or down an easy incline - not on corners or a hard angle change, only slow easy ones. I'd like to just get rid of the message, but for some reason I assume if I just disconnected the sensor, I'd get a different error (I work for GM, I know how they think!).

I have been doing some digging online to see if anyone else has encountered this issue, and so far, its only you and me.

I had the same issue, but it seems to have gone away on its own. I call Gremlin...

Has anyone come up with anything other than gremlin? I have an 03 with a washer fluid light that is always on. I ran low, the light came on, I filled er up, and still have a solid light! I'll try disconnect and reconnect. Could there be one of those tap the brake three times quickly while saying rumplestiltskin solutions?

i would say get a new gas cap, get the code read at autozone, and I have the same problem with the washer fluid light, so I don't know what to tell you.
Does removing the spare count as weight reduction?

Sometimes fluid level sensors can get gunked up and get stuck or otherwise stop working, might be in need of a new sensor for the washer fluid.
