Tom Steve they have to be related because it all started on the same day out of nowhere except for the smoke which had occurred before and I solved that. The Un spent fuel and Mis fire, stalling, bad fuel, all started at the exact same time, and without anyone touching anything under the hood. I find it hard to believe a bunch of diffrent unrelated problems all began on the same day without anyone intervening.

The plugs are all in the correct positions. As aforementioned, nothing was touched under the hood when all of this began. Since then I replaced the rear header gasket which was probably fine, and the valve cover gasket, which was faulty. That eliminated the black smoke.
I cleaned up the engine and took a video as instructed. It's in the same file repository here.
The place where I'm waving my hand is where there's a light wispy smoke that looks like it might be the gas vapor but can't tell where it's coming from. If you see puddles of water, they're just that, from the engine cleaning. I couldn't fully dry it with the blower.

Man, sounds like an exhaust manifold leak to me. What type of gasket did you put on?

There was not a gasket on the crossover pipe ever unless it disintegrated into thin air, because there was nothing on it when I removed it. It's also on the other side of where everything is happening with smoke and leakage, and it fits tight so I don't suspect it of anything.
It sounded like that to me also, that's why I put a new Felpro header gasket on the rear a couple weeks ago but the old one didn't look too bad.

You're talking about the rings pictured here? Yeah they're on there but I thought it was part of the pipe because it doesn't come off.

Still at a stalemate. The car runs but I'm only getting about 10mpg. I can't find the fuel leak. When I open the hood while or after running, the whole thing smells like gas but I don't see any moisture anywhere and no concentration of the gas discernable in any particular location. I really don't know what to do. I can't afford to bring it in anymore than I can afford using twice as much gas which it's been doing for 2 months now and I'm going broke fast.

Might be leaking where it goes back and down the firewall. Mine cracked right around one of the brackets that holds it with the brake lines, where it turns from vertical to horizontal near the control arm. Also any point it's clipped in is a rust point. Just be careful, once u start.messing with those clips...if it's not leaking it might start.

I can't even identify the fuel line. What does it look like and where does it go? I would guess it's the steel tube that pops up out of nowhere behind the motor.
I can't get the OBD to work either. It's not a fuse because they're all good unless it's one that would have nothing to do with it according to the label.

fuel line is black plastic connects to the fuel rail on the intake. fuse for obd port is marked power port, or cigg lighter.

Lighters and all else inside power all work. Even the cruise control which runs off the on star fuse which I'm going to pull again because the battery keeps draining. OBD must be disconnected but there's wires going into it. Pretty sure it's not a fuse. Looking for fuel line in a few.

Nothing solved. Where can I go to get the cheapest diagnosis?
The fuel line looks fine, I didn't see any moisture anywhere and it's in a sleeve which is also dry. I didn't see anything leaking below deck either except for the 2 oil pans which leak constantly. However, it's still reeking of gas and spewing carbon monoxide every time it runs and I'm now getting 9mpg so it's costing me about $15/hour to drive it. Problem is, it's my only car. I really don't know why how or where it's spewing the gas from. All I know is I spent about 40 hours repairing it and nothing I did worked.

I would have it towed to a shop. If you're smelling fuel then it's leaking somewhere and IMHO is NOT safe to drive. Fuel could be burning off before you can see it puddle up somewhere. Could be fuel rail, injector 0-ring, fuel pressure regulator. Also, if it's dumping fuel into the exhaust from a stuck injector or something then you are ruining the catalytic converters too. Unless there is a GP'er in your area that can lend a hand you may have to bite the bullet and pay for this one.

There is no possibility of biting further bullets because I'm already eating them. I barely have enough money for gas to get to a few work sites per week so I can make barely enough money to pay for gas. 90% I can repair it myself but I have to know what the problem is first rather than breaking my back not solving it.

Ya gotta get in there then. No dilly dallie. The fuel line is only plastic on top of the engine, it turns to metal line as it runs down the firewall. If all u seen was plastic then about 9 feet hasn't been inspected. Is fuel pooling around the injectors?

having that obd port functioning would help ya here.
i wonder- with the sympoms showing and except for the gas smell-
if crankshaft and/or camshaft position sensors are faulty.

id get that thing in the air and check every inch of fuel supply right to the tank first. have it running when looking.
have you checked fuel pressure at the rail?

I checked underneath last time I had it jacked up, saw nothing. How would I check injector pooling? thanks.

How would I do that sir? I think I may have done that, after unscrewing the cap on the metal tube in front/top of the supercharger, I pressed the button with my thumb, hand in between it and my face, and it somehow squirted gas in my face anyway, so it seemed like there was plenty of pressure at that spot. Enough to squirt in a curved motion around my hand and straight into my face. So anyway, I don't think it's a fuel leak pre injection.

you have to have a pressure gage. AZ rents em. i cant say what the spec on the pressure is to be, but id assume in the 50psi range-something that cant be determined by pressing on the schrader vavle.
rent it out, check the pressure and leave the gage on there to see if the pressure drops over time.

So, I can't afford to rent any tools right now because they cost 150 and up, but inspected the fuel lines once again, as there are apparently two of them, one running separately to the SC, and there are no leaks anywhere from tank to engine. It just starts smelling like gas whenever it's fired up, and there's gassy smell at tailpipes as well.
I was able to borrow an OBD scanner and get the port to work. All I got was Cyl1 misfire and something about fuel pump relay circuit, and after I cleared it and drove a few minutes, those no longer showed up. 5 of the red lights were flashing at the top, including EGR, O2S, EVA, CAT, HTR, which I don't know exactly but from reading I think means you have to drive it a while with the scanner plugged in for it to read those correctly? Anyone used this type of scanner? There's not much info I can garner.
