Does this look ok? So what my idea is, is to use a relay to pull timing in the event that my AEM meth injection fails. The controller has a green wire that is grounded when an error occurs. My plan is wire that to a relay that will open one of the IAT connections, either the ground or the 5v source. I'm not sure if it matters which one I use?

When the IAT is disconnected it reads -40°. So then it's just a matter of pulling maybe 5 or 10 degrees of timing.

Never really messed with custom relay so I'm asking y'all. Thanks

i just watch the wb, if im not in the 11's i let off. my meth led light is in the middle of my pod where my wb is. and im using a red led light, not the green one they have in the kit. its really bright.

Cool story bro, but I have a wife who sometimes drives my car and barely knows what a cel looks like, nevermind an LED for meth failure, lol.

I think it's better to open the ground instead of the 5v. Less chance of voltage spike hurting the pcm. I think, but can't confirm, the relay I have is diode protected too. It's just one of our fuel pump relays.

Looks like that would work to me. Good idea.

Sounded like a good idea, eh? Can't get it to work yet. So the green wire from the controller sends battery voltage. But I can't get it to activate the relay for some reason. As soon as I hook it to the relay, the 12v disappears. Works just fine with 12v direct from battery. So I'm obviously not understanding how that failsafe wire works.

I think I need to apply 12v to pin 86, instead of ground. The instructions say :
"The green wire on the controller is the 1.7 amp switched ground. This wire can be hook up to a solenoid that will vent wastegate pressure when activated. Apply 12 volts to the other side of the solenoid. this output can also be used to trigger a timing retard function in a standalone ECU or a CDI whenever the system runs out of fluid, thus protecting your engine. It is highly recommended of this feature be utilized."
