you guys, my car sat on jack stands for a month waiting for a tranny.
getting them lines off from under the car takes like 10 minutes tops.

i really dont recall at all. but the two lines will only fit up there in one orientation.
if your under the car looking up at the rack you need to put the higher up hose on first, then the lower one, no way to mix then up and it seem to fit right.
Yeah I got them on there, just wanted to double check.
On another note, pretty sure I'm gonna have to pull newly installed rack out tomorrow. My retarded self didn't turn the pinion gear so the tie rods are sticking out different lengths on each end.
drop the frame and turn it with a adjustable wrench.
or, you could turn the steering wheel till its right, then drop the frame split the shaft off and turn the wheel back. make sure you know how far you went so you can turn it back or the clock spring can break on ya.
So I can no longer recommend Detroit Rack and Pinion. The rack lasted year and a year and a half and about 15k. Contacted them for a warranty and ignored my contacts. No response. Thanks Detroit! Not! So I ended up with a AcDelco reman from Carid second time around. Not a fun job I want to do again and no support for the warranty. Disappointing... On a side note the AcDelco reman rack is so smooth and quiet!
Good that you finally got it sorted out. My reman Delco rack is still going strong after 5 years so I'm not going to complain.
