Was there ever a known issue with the stock 4 wire square electrical connector that goes to the fuel pump? I recently bought a '03 GTP with 187,000 miles, and I went to replace the fuel pump with a working pump from a '01 GTP. When I pulled the pump from the '03 and saw the aftermarket pump, I was stopped in my tracks. The owner had an awful Airtex brand pump installed, no wonder he had problems. Even the fuel sender is a different style and can't be replaced with a AC Delco one.
Anyways, as I was researching fuel pumps for the GP's, one comment made was that a number of Grand Prix and other W-body owners had problems with the AC Delco fuel pump and it was due to the electrical connector design. I was like "uh", never heard of this.
Now, I got to cut the stock connector off another GP, but can't locate any model years close to the 2003.
What years used the same fuel pumps?
