Just wondering whether or not you guys use RTV or sealant on the intake end cap and also the oil filter adapter gasket??

I use rtv on my end cap gasket, I'm not sure what difference it makes, but in my head I like doing it because when I open up the coolant passage, almost always I nick the outside edge.

I'll put a thin layer of thermostat housing sealant on the end cap seal. I didn't open it up as much as some people do. I'll do some more searching on the filter adapter gasket.

The filter housing gasket can go on dry.

Thanks 5FDP and SGT. I looked up on the Felpro website and they said install the adapter gasket dry as well.

I used to spread a thin layer of silicone type gasket maker on a lot of gaskets probably due to a lack of confidence. Then started using this spray tack stuff...

It works really well and its not messy as long as you have a piece of cardboard or something to lay the gasket on and spray it. I recently resealed my entire motor and the only gasket maker I used was on the intake corners. No leaks so far.

Intake stuff near the throttle body is usually installed dry. I used the spray on the oil filter adapter.

I use rtv instead of a supercharger gasket. I did the end cap seal with just rtv because I went a too close when I opened up the coolant flow, no problems. Oil filter adapter i always do dry, with ptfe paste on the bolts.

Thanks guys! I went dry on both and I did use the PTFE paste on the adapter bolts.
