So add $32 for a Mobil 1 5w30 full synthetic high mileage and mobil 1 oil filter change

Add $36 for 8 quarts of super tech dexron vi

Add $20 to pullapart for fender liner and cover for the harmonic balancer and a new scissor jack

    For today's events.

    Changed oil
Got rear painted and back together - still need to torque
Took 2 daughters to pull apart, they had an 04 that arrived 8/9. Talk about luck. Got the two trim pieces and a bunch of fasteners I needed. It may be the coolest place in the world. Wanted to get the piece for the dash that has a crack but every GP they had had a crack. Wife called and said trans filler tube arrived.

Got home and I ordered the wrong one. The old one had a hole where the mount was. It now has tape over it so I could put it all back together.

Test first to check for fuel leak and all good, but I broke the positive battery terminal trying to fix it.

Hopefully done today and off for alignment tomorrrow.

A tribute to my awesomeness is needed. Car is done and has not run this well in years. Off for an alignment tomorrow. All in almost $700 including the alignment.

Still better than a monthly car payment, EVERY month. Cheaper insurance on older cars, too........ Nice Job !
For the record : I am NOT a naked meth-head who shoves rocks up my butt.

How is this even possible. Took for a long drive to enjoy my accomplishment and tell myself why a great mechanic I am and the car was s l o w to heat up and did not do the normal up, down, stabilize temp thing. I figure the thermostat is bad. Then p0128 pops up. So today new thermostat and temp sensor for good measure. Frick.

    Final Post

    All is done.

Replaced the thermostat and temp sensor today. Took 4 hours and 3 different trips to the store for a wrench that would work. I now have an assortment of 19mm wrenches and sockets. 19mm bolts should be very afraid of me from now on. Temp now sits pegged exactly half way and never moves after it gets up to temp.

The right rear wheel bearing was bad. I hit the sensor with a mallet when I was removing the bolts from the strut to the knuckle. Bad news was $89. Good news, and I am not lying - or took 18 minutes from wheel off to wheel on.

The front right bearing is bad. It's making noise. I should have swapped it out when I had it off. But now that is a job for another day.

All fluids correct. No leaks. The transmission filler tube was rattling against the brake booster. I fixed it with some zip ties until I order a new one. But again, job for another day. Now I am going to just drive it.
